Care Instructions
Here are some tips to extend the longevity of ear candy:
- Store items away from direct sunlight, preferably in a box, bag, or drawer.
- Apply perfumes, makeup, and lotions prior to donning your gems.
- Avoid excess moisture: do not shower or swim with your earrings and take them off while working out to avoid contact with excess sweat.
- Do not sleep in your earring to prevent accidental breakage.
- If you dye your hair with semi-permanent hair color (hi it is me!), be mindful that fresh hair dye can transfer onto and stain polymer clay.
- Should you need to clean your items, try using a soft baby wipe, microfiber cloth with mild soap and water. A small bit of rubbing alcohol can also help, although harsh chemicals should be avoided as not to damage the polymer clay or finishes such as resin, polyurethane clear coat, paints, foils, etc.
- Raw brass can be cleaned using home ingredients like lemon juice. Brasso can be used brass components (just be sure to not let it touch the clay).
- While polymer clay and resin are strong materials when cured properly, please do not try a bend test on your earrings. Strong does not mean indestructible.
